This past week has been pretty busy, and this week ahead looks like it will be just as busy. I started looking for employment last week, and so far it is promising. I am torn between finding a career where I will use my hard earned education and on the other hand I really want to accept a few children into my home for child-care so that I can stay home with my children. Either way, I will be helping our family through our tight budget college years:)
As far as our activities last week, we were all under the weather at some point last week. Last Saturday the 25th of April, I woke up feeling horrible. Some kind of bad cold and I still have the last remnant of a cough. Luckily it is almost gone though. Brandon was getting over a double ear infection last week and low and behold, his older brother had a single ear infection. We took him in on friday the 1st to the doctor and got him started on antibiotics. Mike really hasn't had too much sickness compared to us, thank heavens.
On Wednesday, I had a performance with the 30 voice women's choir that I am a part of. We went to two nursing homes and sang for a half hour at each one. I enjoyed serving these good people and seeing their faces light up from the joy of our music. I am grateful to be a part of this group! We were supposed to perform on Saturday at a multicultural festival at a church here in Poky, but that fell through. We have 2 more nursing homes to go to on Wednesday and then on Friday the 8th we have a concert for friends and family members at 6:00 pm at the church on the corner of Center St. and 8th in good ole Poky, ID. I am excited!
Also last Wednesday, Mike and I went down to Idaho Falls to celebrate my Grandfather's 80th birthday with family. We had fun seeing everybody! I am so grateful for my Grandpa, I have so many fond memories with him. When I was little and I was staying at his house, he would come tuck me in bed and tell me bedtime stories, along with any cousins who were there with me. I have heard so many versions of "Goldilocks and the Three Bears" because he would alter the story just a little each time he told it. Another favorite memory of him is when I was about 7. My family and I were in Idaho Falls for Christmas and my grandparents needed a new faucet for their sink. My grandpa asked me if I would like to go out and search for a new one. We went to one store, then another, and then another. By the 9th store I was pretty much tired of stores. My grandpa made a funny comment about baseball and 9 innings, relating to our search for a faucet at 9 stores. I joked afterwards that if Grandpa ever asked me to go with him on a search for something, that I wouldn't go. However, I would give anything to relive that day with my Grandpa, because he means the world to me!
