Visit from cousin Kelvin

Well, we had a visit from Kelvin, who is Corey and Daymi's son, this weekend. They drove down from Rexburg on Friday morning and dropped him off. We had such a fun weekend with him, Kimball sure enjoyed it!

It is kind of blurry, but this is the boys in the back of our car on the way to Lava Hot Springs to go swimming.

The baby and I had already gotten out of the pool, but Mike was good to stay in the pool with the boys. Kimball started shivering so we had to go home earlier than we all wanted to. It was fun though, and it is so close to Pocatello, I definitely think we will be going there this summer!
We took some silly pictures of the boys on sunday before we took Kelvin back to Rexburg. They had Kimball's toddler bed on its side and they got inside. So we got back from Rexburg Sunday night and we of course just put him to bed. But in the morning, the first thing he wanted was to play with Kelvin, he figured he was still at our house, it was cute!

New Haircut

We cut my baby's hair... It was getting pretty long and unruly, just look at some of my old posts with pictures of Brandon and you will see. We couldn't believe how much hair we cut off his head, and he is only four months old today! The funny thing is, that all the hair we cut off was brown, and the short hair he has left is mostly blonde!

Silly Family

I think my favorite thing in life right now, and for the rest of my life, is to share time at home with my family. Right now, with two small boys, we usually spend family time on the floor, playing with toys, reading books, and watching Brandon learn to roll over. Idaho Museum of Natural History

I am still playing catch up on my blog, so bear with me! I just wanted to share some family photos from our little outing to the Idaho museum of natural history here in Pocatello on the ISU campus. We had a fun time, it was an interesting place, filled with artifacts from the natural history of Idaho. We saw mock skeletons of dinosaurs, which of course Kimball loved to see. The trip was not without its 2 year old melt downs, of course, but we are getting to be professionals with dealing with those, kind of:) Anyways, it was a fun family outing and I hope the pictures are enjoyed!

Once upon a time, over two weeks ago to be exact...

Ok, so I admit to being a slacker when it comes to my blog! I have been meaning to update our blog but every time that I think about it, something comes up, like a dirty diaper or dinner time or a family outing. I will start this update with the trip that me and my boys took to Utah over two weeks ago. My father was driving through Utah on his way to California to drop off a load and we decided that we wanted to go see him. I made all the necessary plans and preparations and on February 24th Kimball, Brandon, and I left at 7:00 in the morning. Sadly we had to leave Mike behind, he had school and homework:( 

Our day was filled with fun! We had breakfast with my dad at Market Street Grill in Salt Lake City (if you haven't eaten there you should). I had a crab omelet, which was delicious! It was fun just to visit with my dad, to talk to him one on one. It reminds me of old times, like the time in High School when him and I took a cross country car trip to St. George during spring break... good times! Besides getting to spend time with him, my boys got to see their Papa. We took some memorable pics, a few of which I have posted.

After breakfast, we went to the conference center and toured the facility and then proceeded to the LDS museum of history (I'm not sure if that is the name?). For all the memories, I say thanks to my dad and boys... 

Our new car...WHOO-HOO!!!!

Mike and I traded in our 2002 Ford Taurus Station-wagon, lovingly known as Black Beauty to us, for something new and exciting (or should I say gently used and exciting?) We got a white 2006 Ford Freestyle with only 78,000 (hey, 78,000 is better than the 179,000 miles on the taurus). We love it, and are so glad that we cut our losses on the Taurus, although I do have to say that I miss that old car, we made some good memories in it. Here is a pic of our new White Beauty.

Birthday Boy

We now have a two year old in our home, and he is quite a handful but at the same time he brings so much to our home of laughter and joy. Here are some pictures of his birthday celebrations from this week.

On Tuesday Feb. 17 Kimball received a package from his Mor-Mor. She gave Kimball a Bears sweatshirt and a little duck game. He doesn't quite understand the point of the game, so he just puts all the ducks on the moving pond and then with one swift movement of his arm, knocks them all off.
On his birthday morning he made cupcakes with mommy.
And then after lunchtime he got to decorate the cupcakes with mommy, except he got more frosting in his mouth than on the cupcakes!
For dinner, we all made mini pizzas together. Kimball had fun making them but decided not to eat his dinner... little stinker!

He got a tonka truck from us for his birthday, and we were too cheap to wrap it so we just covered it with a blanket:)
This weekend, on Friday, we had Mike's parents come down to see Kimball and celebrate. We were going to have a party at Leo's place in Idaho Falls, but we cancelled that for a couple of reasons and opted for a quiet celebration at home.  Sorry Kimball, perhaps next year! Kimball's grandparents gave his a fishing pole and tackle box and some fridge magnets. He sure will have fun fishing with daddy soon!
We had a Thomas pinata for Kimball that we were going to use at the party, but since we cancelled, the pinata was used at our house. Here is Grampy enjoying the chocolate in the corner of our living room... Silly grampy:)

Crazy Hair Brandon

Since Kimball is the first born, he has had WAY TOO MANY picture taken of him. I think that is just how it is... So I have been trying to take more pictures of Brandon so he can't say when he is older that we never took pictures of him:) Here are a few of my favorites that I have taken recently...This is a picture of Brandon in his walker, he is so strong and can sit up in his walker and just loves being able to look around at us. Oh, and he is the DROOL KING lately, and he doesn't stop drooling for the pictures...

From this picture it is easy to tell that Brandon is definitely my son, I think the eyes give it away.
I'd have to say that this is my favorite picture of Brandon so far, the smile he gave here was priceless, and I captured it! You know, looking at the picture right now, he looks uncannily like his Uncle Brandon, his name sake, when he was a baby... go figure!Mike likes this picture of Brandon, nice hair little guy!
This picture really gives you a better idea of how crazy Brandon's hair really is!

Crazy Kimball

I take too many pictures to share them all, but here are a few of my favorites of Kimball in the past two weeks.
This picture is of Mike and his two best boys!! Whenever I put Brandon under his little toy, Kimball thinks he has to be under there too. Of course, Kimball requires supervision when he is around Brandon, so it usually turns into a family affair, playing with Brandon's toy:)
Silly Rabbit (Daddy) Trix are for kids! Kimball loves his yogurt, especially trix. Daddy does too...
Mommy and Kimball were playing around with the camera taking random pictures, here is one of us that we took.
One night, Kimball seemed especially interested in how we swaddle Brandon. So we swaddled Kimball to see how it feels and then he climbed into the bouncy. The funniest thing though was watching Kimball try and get out with the use of his arms!
And last, but not least here is our son with neon snot... well it really isn't a booger is is a marshmallow from the cereal marshmallow maties. He shoved it up his nose and thought he was pretty clever for doing so, we just thought he was silly!

Trip to Utah

I know it is a little bit late, but we went down to Utah on January 31st and stayed for one night. I took some pictures of the kids with their Grammy and Grampy Matusek. The last two pictures are of the trip home on Sunday evening. Kimball was hiding under the blanket and when he took it off he had the biggest grin on his face, it was cute! Anyways, we always have fun with Mike's parents and his sister Alyssa.
