Camping

Yesterday Corey Moore, his son Kelvin, and myself left our wives and babies home for a night of camping. We headed out to the Twin Bridges Park by Archer for a relaxing night under the stars. It was just that.

We arrived at about 2 pm and set up camp in a half hour and then went searching for fire wood. That didn't take too long at all; the chopping was time consuming however. This gave us plenty of time to do what we wanted though since we didn't need the fire until 7 pm. We went to the river and did fishing, reading, relaxing, and more.

Back at camp we just relaxed and then went searching for more wood after Corey broke our only means of chopping the wood. Luckily no one got hurt. Kelvin planted his face in the mud though, that was fun..... not really. I think it scared him more than anything but he sure was a mess.

About an hour after that we started the fire, ate hotdogs and set up our sleeping arrangements. Kelvin went to sleep at about 8 pm. Corey and I stayed up for another two hours talking about life, the future, and the stars in the sky. It was a very peaceful night and very enjoyable. We spotted Jupiter, Polaris, the Milkey Way band, and several satellites heading through the clear sky.

We both went to bed at 10 pm, but I was up until 12:30 am listening to the outdoor noises and Corey snoring. We intended only to sleep until 6 am but the sun came up and warmed our tent which added warmth to the cool morning. We got up at 8:30 am and cooked breakfast. I tried fishing one more time and then we cleaned camp and headed home.

In all it is a perfect site for family and friends to get away and relax. The whole time you felt relaxed and able to enjoy the surrounding nature. I suppose Tiff can relay the events of her evening with Daymi, Kimball, and Elena. We sure enjoyed ourselves.
